As the Cameron Lee name nearly turns 60, on this #ThrowbackThursday, let’s take a step back into the history behind the name….
The Cameron Lee Carpets business was originally establishedin Bristol in 1968 as a small flooring company at a small premises in the backwaters of St Andrews by Norman Buckland and David Gregson who were both previously representatives for two carpet and flooring manufacturers.
In 1969 the flooring business moved to the location as towhere it became best known, firstly at number 4 Zetland Road Bristol, and later expanding into Number 6 Zetland Road. During the 1970s Mr Ernest Lever who had previously managed the Bristol branch of Perez Ltd in Park Street Bristol,joined the company as an associate establishing a fine Oriental rug department.Along the way a fabric department was set up at the same premises and the Cameron Lee business continued to enjoy great success in the high-class domestic carpets and flooring environment, along with a substantial commercial/ contract flooring business.
The Cameron Lee and Cameron Lee Carpets brands have established themselves as ‘The’ benchmark in high-quality Carpets, Natural Floor coverings and all types of flooring related products in Bristol, Bath and the surrounding areas, with friendly knowledgeable staff offering the best available help and advice.
In 2013 N&S Flooring Bristol Limited joined forces with the Cameron Lee and Cameron Lee Carpets businesses with a view to refresh the company and to uphold the quality services associated with the valued brands.N&S Flooring Limited has long been established as a successful flooring business, and was also first established in Bristol during the 1960s by Mike Newman and Ray Sherman, specialising in high quality domestic, commercial and wood flooring projects.
Our store in Henleaze opened back in 2014, followed by our brand-new showroom in Clifton Village just last week. We continue to offer our customers the very best quality installation and carpet fitting services, from re-adaption of existing carpets to whole house installation we are here to help.
